Dr. Ibrahim didn’t take the typical route into the specialty. She began in bioengineering, earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and an Advanced Combined Prosthodontics Certificate from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and spent nearly a decade practicing prosthetic, implant, and restorative dentistry — treating adults with complex reconstructive needs and consulting for a global dental manufacturer on both national and international lectures.
That foundation in full-mouth restorative work is unusual for an orthodontist, and it shapes how she plans every case. She returned to school for specialty training at New York University College of Dentistry, earning her Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and has practiced as a board-certified orthodontist for more than 25 years.

Following AAO guidance to evaluate children by age 7, she specializes in interceptive treatment — catching jaw and bite issues while they’re most correctable, often shortening or simplifying treatment later.
